This piece was transformational for me in two ways, it was the first mug i allowed myself to expand past my self inflicted limitations and add more than one mushroom to a piece.
It was a moment where i realized i had been limiting myself for absolutely no reason and it was the beginning of me really exploring with this medium. This was also the very first piece glazed in the entire collection, I was nervous being new to glazes that react chemically in the kiln and once this was finished a whole expansion occurred and got me extremely excited. the glaze along the rim is a glaze that crystallizes in the kiln due to a chemical reaction.
All along the border when you look closely you see the crystal beginning to form. Every firing reacts differently and creates different patterns
